LMKR and Mastercard Partner for Pakistan’s Transit Tech to oversee the deployment of the country’s first open-loop transit payment solution. This collaboration will enable commuters to pay transit fares through debit and credit cards or digital wallets, eliminating the need to buy separate tickets.

The partnership will see Mastercard’s digital payment platforms embedded first into the Zu Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) payments infrastructure, followed by a wider rollout.

Presently, all transit systems in the country have payment options restricted to only cash or closed-loop cards. The convenience of using digital payment will significantly save time and effort for commuters.
